Nanotechnology to promote energy saving batteries in electric cars
Jakarta ♞ The use of nanotechnology can increase the efficiency of lithium batteries in electric cars, National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) chief Djarot S. Wisnubroto has said.
"Nuclear energy will be one of the options in the future and nanotechnology will play an important role as well," Djarot noted at the Serpong area in South Tangerang, Banten province, on Monday.
He pointed out that the development of nanotechnology in Indonesia is closely related to the National Electric Cars Program, because it would encourage the use of energy saving batteries.
"There is a relationship between nanotechnology development and the National Electric Cars Program. Both support green energy, which lead to a green economy," Djarot added.
According to Djarot, nanotechnology has been used in various sectors, including health, agriculture, chemistry, energy and others.
"In the field of agriculture, nanotechnology is used to increase production and reduce deficiencies and waste," he said, adding that BATAN has been researching nanotechnology over the past 10 years in the fields of medicine and the environment.
